The staff at the Boy Scout Camp at Yellow Creek are getting ready to clean up from a recent incident of vandalism.
On Saturday, staff and volunteers will gather for a normal work and maintenance day at Camp Seph Mack in Penn Run, but instead of focusing on the general upkeep like they usually do, Laurel Highlands Council Assistant Scout Executive Michelle Brenneman said they will focus on cleaning up from the incident.
Sometime between July 5th and the 9th, unknown suspects broke several appliances, and discharged a fire extinguisher in the dining hall and broke windows at both the dining hall and Rinn Lodge. Since then, volunteers have expressed an interest in donating their time or goods to help with the cleanup efforts. Brenneman said that the response has been great so far.
The work day begins at 9:00 and volunteers are asked to report to the maintenance building near the camp entrance. Those who are not able to volunteer can log on to lhcscouting.org/SupportSephMack.
