The Pirates completed a sweep of the Cubs Thursday afternoon 4 to 2 at PNC Park . Vin Mazarro got the win . Andrew McCutchen went 3 fo 4 with two runs batted in . Jason Grilli recorded his 19th save . The Pirates have won 11 of 12 and open a series at Milwaukee Friday night . Pre-game at 7:45p.m. on 1160 WCCS.

DISTRICT PLAYOFFS POSTPONED THURSDAY

District Six basball and softball playoffs were postponed until Friday because of Thursday's inclement weather. The baseball game at Blairsville with the Bobcats hosting Central will be heard on 1450 WDAD at 3:45p.m. .

IUP GOLF TEAM FINISHES 14TH

The IUP golf team finished the season with a 14th place finish at the NCAA D-2 Tournament in Hershey ,Pa. Zack Kempa was the top IUP golfer tied for 11th place . Sean Sweithelm an Indiana high grad tied for 44th place .

Travis Snider smacked a pinch hit grand slam home run in a five run sixth inning and the Pirates downed the Cubs last night 5 to 4 . Wandy Rodriquez was the winning pitcher and Jason Grilli picked up his 18th save . The Bucs have won six of their last seven games . Game two tonight with Francisco Liriano starting for Pittsburgh .
