A fire at a Black Lick area house slowed traffic on Route 119 South Monday.


The fire was reported just after 3:00 p.m. at a house along the roadway.


Several fire companies were on the scene working to put out the flames.  The house was gutted by the fire.

Five people were left homeless but no one was injured in the fire.  The people who lived in the house are being assisted by the American Red Cross.


Fire officials said the flames appear to have started in a room near the front of the house.  There was no word on a cause Monday evening.
