State police have not yet found the man wanted in connection with the killing of Michael Volk on Saturday afternoon near Torrance, but they have identified the suspect, prviously known only as “Mitch”. His real name is Ronell Lamar Moses Jr. He’s twenty years old and from Hamilton Drive in Penn Hills in Allegheny County, and police say he is armed and dangerous.
Volk, who lived along Gamble Road in West Wheatfield Township, allegedly conspired with his girlfriend, Danielle Clawson, and with Jesus Santiago and Tiffany Blattenberger, who lived at the mobile home in which the shooting occurred, to rob Moses of heroin and money, but the robbery went bad and Volk was shot to death.
An arrest warrant for Moses charges him with homicide, kidnapping, unlawful possession of a firearm, and terroristic threats. The kidnapping charges have to do with Moses holding Clawson, Santiago, and Blattenberger at gunpoint after the shooting while he waited for a ride. Moses was due in court in Allegheny County on Monday to face a charge of fleeing to avoid apprehension - which he is obviously doing now – after posting a $10,000 bond payment in August.
Clawson, Santiago, and Blattengerger are in custody at the Westmoreland County Prison on homicide, robbery, and conspiracy charges. The homicide charge is because their actions contributed to the death of Volk.
