Police in Indiana have charged a woman with public drunkenness and possession of drug paraphernalia after they said she attempted to drive a motorized wheelchair Wednesday morning.
Borough police say they witnessed Tammy Smith, of Indiana, fall off a wheelchair several times along the sidewalk this morning in the 400 block of Philadelphia Street.
Officers determined Smith was highly intoxicated when they approached her, and that she might be under the influence of marijuana. When Smith was taken into custody police found a marijuana pipe in her possession. She has been charged in a criminal complaint with possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.
