IUP IDENTIFIES FIRST FINALIST FOR PROVOST
Southern Connecticut administrator to visit campus next week

IUP has posted the schedule for the four finalists for the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs position to make their campus visits, and the university has identified the first of the candidates.

 

DonnaJean Fredeen of Southern Connecticut State University is scheduled to be on campus October 8th and 9th to talk with members of the IUP community and learn about the university.  She has been dean of the School of Arts & Sciences at Southern Connecticut since 2001 and was interim dean for three years prior to that.  She oversees 600 full-time and part-time faculty and has led the implementation of the university’s new Liberal Education Program.  Fredeen has a Bachelors in chemistry from McMurry College and earned her PhD in analytic/inorganic chemistry from Texas A&M.

 

IUP will hold a student, staff, and community open forum to meet Fredeen on Monday from 3 to 4 PM and a faculty open forum from 5 to 6.  On Tuesday, there will be another faculty open forum from 9:30 to 10:30 AM and an open forum for students, staff, and the community from 11:30 to 12:30.  All of the forums for Fredeen’s visit will be in the Allegheny Room at the HUB. 

 

The other finalists, who have not yet been publicly identified, are scheduled October 11th and 12th; October 15th and 16th; and October 18th and 19th
