PennDOT to study traffic at intersection

White Township Assistant Township Manager Milt Lady said PennDOT has agreed to do a speed study on section of Route 110 near the Old Route 119 interchange.  A resident requested that White Township consider lowering the speed from 55 to 35 miles per hour.

On another road issue, the supervisors were advised that a stop sign is needed at Carter Avenue and 2nd Street to make it a four-way stop. The supervisors agreed to advertise for the new ordinance.

A no parking ordinance is now in effect on North 5th Street from the borough line at North Avenue to McGregor Street. This mainly concerns traffic to and from the high school. There is difficulty getting two lanes of traffic flowing during events. Code Enforcement Officer Chris Anderson said the street was monitored over the course of several weeks.

Supervisor Jerry Boucher, who also works at Creps United Publications, praised the work of the firefighters from all over the area for their response to the Creps fire that occurred Tuesday morning. The supervisors then passed a motion to go on record as commending all responding firefighters.
