U.S. representative Allyson Schwartz appears to be making plans to run for governor in 2014, according to reporting by the Philadelphia Inquirer. Schwartz is a Democrat from Pennsylvania’s 13th district, which includes parts of Montgomery County and Northeast Philadelphia. She hired the state Democratic finance director for her own political operation. She already has $3.1 million in her federal account, and PA would allow that money to be transferred to a governor campaign, according to an article on PoliticsPA. Schwartz is most notably involved in legislation for the healthcare field, pushing for electronic prescribing systems in the country.
