Homer City man, Indiana man both pleaded guilty to reduced charges

A Homer City man will be sentenced today for nine offenses related to a scuffle with an Indiana Borough police officer last summer.  23-year-old Alan Bailey was originally charged with ten offenses, but a felony count of aggravated assault was dropped.  The nine remaining charges are misdemeanors or summary violations, to all of which Bailey pleaded guilty.  Those charges include simple assault, resisting arrest, and fighting.  Bailey struggled with the officer in July at the Indiana Regional Medical Center when police took him there for evaluation after he’d been found sleeping in a backyard on Church Street.

23-year-old Zachary Dill of Indiana will be sentenced today for assault charges stemming from an altercation in which he pulled a switchblade knife on a patron at Wolfendale’s in Indiana last summer.  When police arrived, Dill scuffled with them and he had to be subdued with pepper spray.  He pleaded guilty to simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and having an offensive weapon, all misdemeanors.  Several other charges, including felony aggravated assault, were dropped.

Both Bailey and Dill are due before Judge William Martin for sentencing this morning.
