The Corbett administration picked the British firm Camelot Global Services to run Pennsylvania’s lottery. The Governor’s office alerted lottery employees of the upcoming move yesterday afternoon. Just three days prior, the labor union which represents most of the current lottery workers presented their own plan to the governor. There are currently 230 Pa. Lottery employees, and about 70 would retain their jobs if Camelot takes over.

Camelot was the sole bidder for the 20-30 year contract and promised $34 billion in profits over that time period. Pa. would be the third state in the nation to use a private firm to manage its lottery.
