The finalists for this year’s Leaders Circle of Indiana County Awards have been announced.  The awards include the Athena Award and Male and Female Civic Leader awards.


Here are the finalists for the Athena Award, which is awarded to a man or woman who has achieved professional excellence and made outstanding contributions to Indiana County.


The finalists are:

* Indiana County Court of Common Pleas Judge Carol Hanna

* Electronic Design Engineer and Indiana County NAACP Volunteer Patricia Holmes

* S&T Bank Mortgage Originator and Indiana Business Women board member Jackie Overdorff

* Peles Holdings LLC co-operator Barb Peles

Nominees for Female Civic Leader:

*  Connie Bence, Indiana County YMCA board member

* Diana Onuscheck, PNC Bank manager

* Chris Welker, owner of Wildfire Signs

* Sheila Charnego, founding member of the Homer City Area Business Association

* Pepita Jimenez-Jacobs, a former IUP professor

Finalists for Male Civic Leader:

* Anthony Frazier, local musician and “Acoustic Hour” host

* Frank Holuta, president of Elkin Hi-Tech

* Fred Hayes, Homer-Center school board member

* Joseph Iezzi Sr., Homer City Borough Council president

* Brian Jones, IUP Theater Dept. Chairman

* Ralph May, Chief Clinical Officer of the Community Guidance Center

* Charles “Skip” McGreevy, Indiana Chapter of the American Red Cross volunteer

* Jody Rainey, Homer-Center High School Principal

* Danny Sacco, Indiana Regional Medical Center Safety and Security Director
