Three Seminars Planned

The Indiana Mall will be a busy place this Saturday with the annual Indiana County Chamber Expo.  Along with booths representing businesses of all different varieties, Indiana County Chamber of Commerce President Dana Henry is also detailing several seminars which will take place during the day.  The seminars will be held in the Dingbats banquet room.

They include:

* A seminar from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. focusing on “How to Research and Buy a Franchise.”  The seminar will be hosted by John Tubridy, president of the Franchise Network of Pittsburgh.  Tubridy will discuss the pros and cons of franchising to determine if it is right for you.

* A seminar from 11 a.m. to noon with Brian Schimmel, a local government liaison with the state Department of Environmental Protection.  Schimmel will focus on Act 13, also known as the state’s Marcellus Shale Gas impact fee.  Schimmel will share details on how to apply for a natural gas vehicle grant associated with Act 13.

* From 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., Tony Palomone of IUP’s Small Business Development Center will speak on the resources available at the center for small businesses looking to get started or at expansion.
