MCANULTY MURDER CASE GETS TV TREATMENT
Investigation Discovery to air "Slave to Love"

2/18/2013

A murder case involving an Indiana County man came to television this past weekend as an episode of the Investigation Discovery channel’s Scorned: Love Kills series.

57-year-old Richard McAnulty of Center Township is serving life in prison for first degree murder in the 2010 shooting death of 39-year-old Harry Mears III of Southwest Greensburg.  After finding old computer messages related to an affair between his wife and Mears, McAnulty drove thirty miles from his Indiana County home, broke through the door at Mears’ home, and chased him through the house.  He shot Mears three times, the last one after Mears had climbed onto a porch roof and fallen to the ground below.  The final shot came as Mears begged for his life.

The promo for the TV episode titled, Slave to Love, says “Richard McAnulty begins an ongoing adulterous affair with an older widow named Doris, while his wife of decades, Diane, becomes involved in a much more scandalous relationship with another man.  When the affairs are exposed, the consequence is deadly.”

The show aired Saturday at 10 PM. If you missed it, it’s available free online.
