HEARING TODAY FOR STUDENT CHARGED WITH GASOLINE SPILL
Essex House resident linked to puddles of gas found in stairwells

5/9/2013

A preliminary hearing is scheduled today for 21-year-old Paul Indrihovic II of Coraopolis, an IUP student charged with felony counts of risking a catastrophe, possession of explosive or incendiary materials or devices, and criminal mischief, along with misdemeanor recklessly endangering.

Indrihovic was arrested Friday, April 5th at the Essex House apartments after Indiana Borough police said someone spilled or dumped gasoline in two stairwells.  Firefighters and police were summoned on Thursday night because of the smell of gasoline, and went door-to-door to evacuate the building.  When they went to Indrihovic’s apartment, firefighters smelled gasoline coming from around the kitchen sink area, and police say they found evidence linking Indirhovic to the gasoline in the stairwells.

It was a busy week for firefighters at the apartment complex.  They’d been there twice previously on Thursday – once for a vehicle fire termed “suspicious” – and had been there three days earlier for a dryer fire in the laundry area.

Indrihovic is due before District Judge Guy Haberl at 10:30 this morning.
