GREG BROWN, FRANK COONELLY TO VISIT RENDA STUDIOS TO TOUT MIRACLE LEAGUE
Innovative baseball field aids special-needs children

7/2/2013

A typical Miracle League game lasts only two innings, but everybody gets to bat in each inning, everybody is safe and scores a run, and every life is changed.

Indiana County will soon have its own Miracle League Field, as representatives of the Pittsburgh Pirates will visit today for a special announcement at the YMCA.  Pirates’ broadcaster Greg Brown will be Master of Ceremonies at 10:30 AM, representing Pirates Charities.  He will be joined by team owner Bob Nutting and president Frank Coonelly, along with the local team which has worked so hard to get the project off the ground.

A Miracle League field is designed for special-needs children, with a cushioned, completely flat, rubberized surface – no pitcher’s mound or raised bases - and wheelchair-accessible dugouts.

Greg Brown and Frank Coonelly will visit our Renda Broadcasting studios this morning at 9:30 for a special segment that will be simulcast on AM 1450 WDAD and Newstalk 1160 WCCS.
