Owner, customers detained robbers in April heist

Sentencing is scheduled this morning for two men who pleaded guilty to charges in connection with the attempted robbery in April of the King Buffet Chinese restaurant in White Township.

In a plea bargain, 22-year-old Jeremia Fromme of Ernest admitted guilt to a single felony charge of robbery and was ordered to undergo drug treatment at a rehabilitation facility.   26-year-old Adam Wilson of Indiana also pleaded guilty to the same charge.

The two men walked into the restaurant and handed a note demanding money to the cashier, the 17-year-old niece of the owner.  Customers alerted the owner, Bin Zheng, and he and three customers tackled Wilson and Fromme before they could get away.

Also scheduled for sentencing today in Indiana County Court are 33-year-old Thomas Allen Williams of Indiana, who pleaded guilty to failure to comply with requirements to register as a sexual offender; and 40-year-old LuAnn Wolfe of Saltsburg, who pled guilty to two theft charges for the theft of jewelry last winter from a man who lives along McIntyre Road.
