COMMODORE FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND TO TWO INCIDENTS SATURDAY, BOTH NEEDING MEDICAL HELICOPTERS

10/20/2013

Saturday was a busy day for Commodore firefighters, with an overnight call early in the day and an afternoon summons as well.  The first incident on Route 403 in Green Township involved a vehicle which hit a large pine tree after the driver swerved to avoid a deer.  The driver was ejected.  Firefighters set up a landing zone for a medical helicopter to take the patient away.  A state police report is not yet available on the crash.

The second incident involved a victim who was cutting down a tree along Hilltop Road in Green Township and was hit by the falling tree.  Again, firefighters set up a landing zone for a medical helicopter.  The victim has not been publicly identified.
