Saturday night incident on South 7th Street

Indiana Borough police are seeking information on a downtown brawl Saturday night in the 200 block of South 7th Street.

An IUP student reported that he and his two roomates were confronted by a rowdy group of seven men who attacked them.  One victim said he was punched and kicked, and another said one of the suspects pulled a small knife and “threatened to cut him.”

The suspects are five black males and two white males.  The man with the knife is described as being white, short, of average build, and wearing a Chicago Bulls hat, a puffy vest, and saggy dark jeans.  The other white male suspect is described, in the words of one of the victims, as “medium height and fat.”  Other suspects were described as a “tall, skinny black male wearing a black tank top”, and a short, thin black male wearing a white thermal shirt.  There are no descriptions of the other three men.

The incident happened at about 11 o’clock Saturday night.  Anyone with information on the assault is urged to call borough police at 349-2121.
