Track/cross country coach also hired

The Homer Center School Board met last night and hired a new teacher.  The board voted 7-0 to hire Laura Ramsey as a special education teacher at the salary of $57,600.  Ramsey will come to Homer-Center from her current employment at Blacklick Valley within 60 days.

In other business, the board unanimously voted to hire John Michael Uccellini as the head girls' track coach and cross country coach at a salary of $4,600.

Indiana County Chamber of Commerce President Jim Struzzi told the board that he will do all that he can to promote activities at Homer Center through the Chamber of Commerce website.

Finally, the board recognized Kim Thomas for her eight years of service.  Thomas chose not to run for a third term, and her time on the school board officially ends this month.
