Residents protest proposed speed limit on Risinger Road

White Township accepted bids for road materials at last night’s (Wednesday’s) supervisors meeting. The bids are are all contingent on the administration checking the firms’ paperwork and bonds. Hanson Aggregates from Connellsville snagged up most of the stone bids. Bradigan’s Incorporated from Kittanning beat out Indiana Fuel and Oil for 7,000 gallons of gasoline and 13,000 gallons of diesel.

Five members of the Risinger clan, along with others, were at Wednesday’s supervisors meeting opposing a 25 mile-per-hour speed limit ordinance on Risinger Road. The supervisors and administration took their concerns into account and tabled the approval of the ordinance until after their April 21 road tour. The supervisors will vote on the ordinance after they have inspected Risinger Road.

The dates for spring cleanup were set for the week before Memorial Day. It will be May 19-23. The township will gather woody material put in boxes at the edge of the road. Nothing can be over 50 pounds or longer than six inches.
