LOCAL EDUCATORS TAKING CLOSER LOOK AT SECURITY POLICIES IN WAKE OF STABBING AT FRANKLIN REGIONAL

4/10/2014

With the stabbing at Franklin-Regional High School happening close to Indiana County, some area education officials are saying that they are taking a look once again at their own security policies.

Superintendent Dr. Charles Koren of the Homer-Center School District said that after everything calms down from an incident like this, other schools can take a look at what was done and apply it to their own schools.

Rodney Greene, the acting Superintendent at Indiana Area School District, said that when word of the incident came out, word also came down from administration to review policies and procedures for keeping students safe in various emergency situations.

Koren said that security is always on the top of everyone’s mind, but sensitivity to that issue goes up when events like the Franklin Regional Stabbing takes place.
