State Representative Dave Reed was honored with the Community Action Association of Pennsylvania’s Public Official of the Year award at their annual conference Thursday Night.

Reed was honored by the CAAP for his recent examination of poverty throughout the state.  He’s been visiting several groups and organizations across Pennsylvania to find the true problems with poverty, and working to find better solutions than spending more money on the problem.

Reed has also authored House Resolution 753, declaring May as Community Action Month.

CAAP President Joe Ostrander said that Reed is showing great commitment to addressing the poverty problem.  Reed had worked with various Community Action organizations throughout the state during his poverty campaign, and both he and the CAAP say they look forward to continuing to work together on poverty issues.
