The preliminary hearing for an Allegheny County man who was arrested as part of a drug bust in Indiana borough has been continued.

25-year-old Desmond Johnson of Homestead was to have his preliminary hearing yesterday, but that has been postponed until August 13th.  He is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver, possession of a firearm, criminal use of a communications facility after a drug bust at a home in the 500 block of South Sixth Street on April 28th.  When police moved in, he led them on a chase in his car, trying to throw several bags of suspected heroin and cash out the window while he was driving.  He would ditch the car and try to elude officers on foot, but police soon caught up with him.

Johnson remains in the Indiana County Jail as he is unable to post $50,000 bail.
