A Dean at IUP is the focus of a second investigation concerning his former employer, San Jose State University.

It was San Jose State that has called for a second review of expenditures from a student funded account that was managed by the current dean of IUP's College of Health and Human Services, Dr. Mark Correia.  A prior review had found that there was "no fiscal impropriety" concerning Correia's expendtures from that "off-campus" university checking account during his time as San Jose State's chairman of the justice studies department.  This came despite Correia admitting that he made over $6,000 in personal expenditures from that account, including paying himself around $260 for personal expenses, and paying for an iPad and iPad services, parking ticket payments, cellphone fees, and over $2700 in airfare.  Prior to leaving for IUP, though, Correia repaid every cent to the account.

Students and San Jose State President Mo Quayoumi have been skeptical of the report, and want an independent audit done of the now-closed account.  Some are saying that the study done by Justice Studies Dean Chalres Bullock was a sham, as he has said there was no impropriety, but would not show the report.

Correia has not commented on this investigation, but IUP is standing behind Correia's hiring and the work that he's done over the past year, that according to Michelle Fryling, the director of IUP's Communications and Media Relations.
