Michael Anthony Cimbalista, 65, of Blairsville, PA passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.

          A son of Andrew J. Cimbalista and Mary (Sova) Cimbalista Hydrick, he was born January 23, 1947 in Riddlesburg, PA.

          Mr. Cimbalista graduated from Tussey Mountain High School in 1964.  He played on the 1961 Tussey Mountain undefeated football team and was inducted into the Bedford County Sports Hall of Fame in 2009.

He worked for Edison Mission Energy at the Homer City Power Plant for 42 years, retiring in 2010.

          He enjoyed being with his children, grandchildren, golfing and NASCAR.

          Surviving are two daughters, Janet Whetzel (Doug) of Alexandria, VA and Traci Fick (Scott) of Greensburg, PA; four grandchildren, Amanda Whetzel, Douglas Whetzel Jr., Megan Fick and Brandon Fick; his fiancée, Claire Kehoe of Blairsville; a brother, Robert Cimbalista of Everett, PA; three sisters, Andrea Teeters of Wakeman, OH; Mary Ann Nida (Glenn) of Wakeman, OH and Sonja Mitchell (Kenneth) of Amherst, OH.

          He was preceded in death by his parents.

          The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M. Friday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA.  A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Cory A. Braatz officiating.

          Interment will be in Ave Maria Cemetery, Dudley, PA.
