Frank Schatko, 72, of Clymer, PA, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at his home.
A son of Johann and Agnes (Fuchs) Schatko, he was born October 14, 1939, in Felicienthal, Poland.
Mr. Schatko was a member of the Church of the Resurrection in Clymer. He was a Private First Class veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He taught at Indiana Area High School until retirement. Frank also started the soccer team program at Indiana Area High School during his tenure. He enjoyed traveling abroad with his students and playing golf and soccer.
Surviving are three sisters and a brother: Leah Gulas of Purchase Line, PA; Wanda Kush and husband Edward of Greensburg, PA; Annemarie Watson and husband Melvin of Hillsdale, PA; Joseph Schatko of Clymer, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received at the Harry J. Bence Funeral Home in Clymer on Sunday, Sept. 16, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at the Church of the Resurrection in Clymer with the Rev. Timothy Kruthaupt as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery in Clymer with military rites conducted by the Clymer American Legion Post 222.
