Wayne A. Leamer, 83, of Cherry Tree, PA died Monday, December 24, 2012 at the Hillsdale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hillsdale, PA.

            The son of Murrell E. and Orpha E. (Hudson) Leamer, he was born on June 6, 1929 in Green Twp., Indiana County, PA.

            Wayne was a member of the Calvary Evangelical Church near Cherry Tree, PA.

During peacetime, he served in a US Army artillery unit.

            For most of his life, Wayne worked on his family’s dairy farm in Clearfield County.

            He looked forward to taking his dog, “Puppy” for a walk up the hill. He loved attending church functions of all types from hymn sings to revival services.

            Wayne enjoyed eating out at restaurants and spending time at Pardee’s240 Restaurant.

            The last surviving member of his immediate family, he is survived by a number of nieces and nephews and his good friend, Dennis W. Kough.

            He was preceded in death by his parents and his nine siblings: Lavada Montgomery; Letha Leamer; Clarence Leamer; Elmer Leamer; Viola Furman; Ivan Leamer; OrloLeamer and Alva Leamer.

            Friends will be received from 3-7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2012 with Pastor Matthew Blake officiating. Interment will take place at the East Ridge Cemetery in Westover, PA.
