          John Joseph Bukosky, 92, of Blairsville, PA (Burrell Twp.) passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown, PA.

          The son of John and Anna (Tomasko) Bukosky, he was born December 19, 1920 in Josephine, PA.

          Mr. Bukosky was a member of SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, IBEW Local of Blairsville and a former member of the Angels of Compassion.

          He enjoyed being with his family, working in his yard at home, hunting, fishing and camping.

          He was a US Army veteran of World War II and worked for 30 years at Blairsville Westinghouse, retiring in 1985.

          Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Ethel G. (Longenecker) Bukosky whom he married November 24, 1951; two sons, Daniel J. Bukosky (Jean) of Black Lick and Thomas J. Bukosky (Dolores) of Blairsville; four grandchildren, Craig Bukosky, Adam Bukosky, Alexandra Lekawa and Scott Bukosky and a great granddaughter, Madison Richards.

          He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kathleen Richards on August 1, 2006; two brothers, Leonard and Paul and two sisters, Anna Marie Kokolis and Mildred Bukosky.

          The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA where a wake service will be held at 8:30 P.M. Tuesday.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at SS Simon & Jude Roman Catholic Church, Blairsville, with Fr. Chester J. Raimer as celebrant.

          Interment will be in SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.

          Memorial contributions, in John’s name, may be made to the Blairsville Public Library, 113 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA to purchase books with large print.

          Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion Post #0407.
