Robert L. Penrod, 82, of Indiana, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013, in Brush Valley Township.
A son of the late Lowman M. and Nellie Elizabeth Williams Penrod, he was born Dec. 3, 1930, in Luciusboro.
Mr. Penrod was a graduate of Brush Valley High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Indiana Church of the Brethren. He drove a milk truck and was an over the road truck driver for Wright Trucking of Armagh. Most recently, he drove rock truck for the strip jobs for Northern Cambria Fuel.
He is survived by three step children: Tom Douglass and wife Tari, of Brush Valley; Mary Anne Douglass, of Orlando, FL; and Christina Douglass, of Monroeville; two sisters: Mary Jane Overdorff, of Brush Valley; and Nancy McGarey, of Port Orange, FL; two step grandchildren: Mallory Douglass and T.K. Douglass; step great-grandson, Tyler Douglass, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Stanek Penrod; a brother, Alfred Earl Penrod; and two sisters: Twila Lewis and Beulah McNutt.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., Indiana, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Richard Russell officiating.
