Joseph E. Hammack, 57, of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at his residence.
A son of the late Wilbert G. and Virginia I. Collins Hammack, he was born Sept. 22, 1956, in Indiana.
Mr. Hammack was a graduate of United High School. Joe was an over the road truck driver for Specialty Products in Lancaster. He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson, watching his favorite NFL team, the Oakland Raiders, spending time with family and his girlfriend, Georgia.
He is survived by two children: Crystal Montgomery and husband Steven, of Brush Valley; and Dustin Hammack, of Dallas, TX; his soul mate, Georgia Walls and son Dylan, of Williamsburg; a brother, Jerry Hammack and fiancée Robin, of Brush Valley; four sisters: Diana Plivelic and husband Joe, of Indiana; Patricia Mehalic and husband Bob, of Indiana; Betty Lou Thornsberry, of Lucernemines; and Betty Ann Nelson, of Akron, OH; a special aunt, Thelma Jean Mardis, of Akron, OH; two grandchildren: Autumn and Aedyn Montgomery; special nephews: Joshua Hammack and fiancée Deirdra, Joey Plivelic, Bryce Hammack, and Josh Kuzmyak; a special niece, Melissa Kuzmyak; and other nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Hammack.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., Indiana, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Dr. Horace Derr officiating.
