Sarah E. Battick, 87, of Creekside, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Beacon Ridge.
A daughter of the late Charles and Agnes Hancock Lance, she was born Dec. 10, 1925, in Indiana.
Mrs. Battick was a graduate of Indiana High School. She was a homemaker, den mother, and had been employed as a sales clerk at McCreary’s 5&10 for many years. A member of the Creekside United Methodist Church, and the United Methodist Women, where she held many offices with the United Methodist Women over the years. Mrs. Battick also loved to do crafts.
She is survived by three children: John C. Battick and wife Yvonne, of Ernest; James A. Battick and wife Katherine, of Bonaire, Ga.; Linda Nadzadi, of Homer City; a daughter-in-law, Carol Battick, of Creekside; a sister: Evelyn Lydic and husband, Joseph, of Indiana; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews..
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Battick; a son, Richard Battick, Sr.; a son-in-law, Edward Nadzadi; and two sisters: Peggy Eckenrod and Dorothy Goss.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., Indiana, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with The Rev. Tim Goodman officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
