James P. McGinnis, 60, of Indiana, passed away Monday, June 24, 2013, at UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh.
A son of James L. and Mary Kay Murray McGinnis, he was born April 25, 1953, in Eugene, OR.
Mr. McGinnis was a graduate of Indiana High School, where he ran cross country and was the well-recognized mascot of the high school, the "Chief". Jim was also a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He was an Operations Manager with E.P. Global Communications and a member of St. Bernard Clairvaux Catholic Church. Jim was a loyal NASCAR fan, along with his best friend Dennis, and he enjoyed spending time at the beach with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sharon Killian McGinnis, of Indiana; two daughters: Erin L. Wilson and husband Shelby, of Creekside; and Shannon McGinnis and fiancé Don Rowe, Jr., of Coral; a brother, Daniel McGinnis and wife Michelle, of Harrisburg, two sisters: Kathy Detwiler and husband Robert, of Worthington; and Teresa Kensey and husband Dave, of Indiana; two beloved granddaughters, who were the love of his life: Anna and Emma Wilson; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, James L. McGinnis and a brother, Michael J. McGinnis.
Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., Indiana. A funeral mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Federline as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery Mausoleum.
