Donna M. Wolfe, 53, of Indiana, passed away Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
A daughter of Daniel H. and Dolores A. Wheeler McConville, she was born Aug. 16, 1960, in Natrona Heights.
Donna was a 1978 graduate of Highlands High School. She was employed at Indiana University of Pennsylvania as a fiscal assistant in the payroll department. Prior to her employment at IUP, she had worked at the Indiana Gazette and Indiana Regional Medical Center. Donna had been involved in a 30-year diabetes control and complication trial and follow-up study with the National Institute of Health DDCT/EDIC. She helped coordinate musical entertainment for the Relay for Life events held annually in Indiana. She was also a member of the IRMC Diabetes Support Group, Indiana BPOE Lodge 931 and the AFSCME Local 763. Donna was a co-chair of the planning committee for Vintage Affairs, a local fundraiser for Lifesteps. She served as treasurer of the Indiana High School swim team and had played softball for the Thirsty’s Women’s Softball Team in Oakland. Donna was dedicated to IUP, as she loaned her time and her favorite red Mustang convertible to drive the alumni Grand Marshals in the annual Homecoming Parade. Her greatest joy was watching her children grow and to be a part of their lives, helping them anyway she could.
She is survived by her parents of, Natrona Heights; her husband of 27 years, Richard T. Wolfe, Jr., of Indiana; two children: Andrew T. Wolfe and Ashley M. Wolfe, both of Indiana; a brother, David A. McConville, of Natrona Heights; a sister-in-law, Sally Wolfe, of Upper Marlboro, Md.; a brother-in-law, Allan Wolfe and wife, Debby, of Baltimore, Md.; a niece, Holly Cardwell; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., Indiana. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church. Interment will be private.
