Dorothy Jean Grant, 82, of Indiana, passed away Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at St. Andrew’s Village, Indiana.
A daughter of the late Truman and Ollie Mary Nichol Buterbaugh, she was born March 23, 1931, in Grant Township, Indiana County.
Mrs. Grant was a 1949 graduate of Marion Center High School. In 2006, she retired from Indiana Area School District, completing 21 years in food service. Mrs. Grant was a member of the Indiana County Trails Rider and the Appalachian Wagon Train. She enjoyed bowling, horseback riding, walking and being outdoors. Mrs. Grant was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by two children: David W. Grant, Sr. and wife Patti, of Indiana; and Kenneth E. Grant and wife Donna, of Ernest; four grandchildren: David W. Grant Jr., Heather E. Rattigan and husband Patrick, Rachel Grant and Ryan Grant; four great-grandchildren: Alyssa Grant, Austin Grant, Troy Rattigan and Trent Rattigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer Grant; two brothers, Melvin D. Buterbaugh and Clair E. Buterbaugh; a daughter-in-law, Tanya Grant; and a special friend, Foster Blose.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., Indiana. Additional visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church in Clymer, with the Rev. Daryl S. Jeffers officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
