Sarah E. Shaffer, 95, ofIndiana, passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at St. Andrew’s Village.
A daughter of the late David Earl and Effie Della Kring Learn, she was born Nov. 3, 1918, inGreensburg.
Mrs. Shaffer was a homemaker and had worked at Owen Illinois and Coca Cola Bottling. She was a member ofTrinityUnitedMethodistChurch. Mrs. Shaffer enjoyed reading, camping and being with her family.
She is survived by five children: Dotty Frank and husband Eddie, of Indiana; Edith MacBlane and husband Jim, of Indiana; Effie Mae McAdoo, of Knowlesville, NY; Linda M. Eastman, of Middleport, NY; and David L. Shaffer and wife Joann, of Mooresville, NC; 24 grandchildren, including spouses; 41 great-grandchildren, including spouses; 18 great-great-grandchildren, including spouses; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Elder Shaffer; a brother, Clyde Leroy Learn; and two sons-in-law, Ken McAdoo and Dayton Eastman.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc.,Indiana, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Scott Pifer and Pastor Tammie Pifer officiating. Interment will be inOaklandCemetery.
