SOPHIE ANDERSON, 94
Sophie C. Anderson, age 94, of Homer City, passed away Thursday, June 26, at her home. Friends of Sophie Anderson will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Robinson-Lytle Funeral Home in Indiana, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Sophie C. Anderson, 94, of Homer City, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014, at her residence.
A daughter of the late Mili and Agnes Peraka Cindric, she was born March 15, 1920, in Coral.
Mrs. Anderson was a graduate of Homer City High School and a homemaker. She was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Homer City. Mrs. Anderson was a past president of the Brush Valley V.F.D. Ladies Auxiliary. She served the community at the Brush Valley tent at fair time and did work for the Democratic Committee. Mrs. Anderson enjoyed attending church and socializing with the congregation, doing crafts, baking and cooking. She was a caring and loving person always welcoming anybody to her home for a meal.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Lawrence A. Anderson, of Homer City; eight children: Marlene Cindric Walker and husband James, of White Oak; Donald J. Anderson and wife Becky, of Brush Valley; Debbie L. Reha and husband Michael, of Brush Valley; Larry D. Anderson, of Brush Valley; Ruth A. Bryan and husband William, of Brush Valley; Gary D. Anderson of Waterman; Kenny S. Anderson and wife Gloria, of Indiana; Keith A. Anderson and wife Chris, of Blairsville; 18 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John A. Anderson in 1999; infant brothers, Joseph and Nicholas Cindric; infant sister, Dorothy Sindrich; and the following siblings: Pete Sindrich, Mary Lightner, Katherine Lessnick, Frances Stancomb, Annie Gombita, Clara Hess and Agnes Parker.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., Indiana, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, with Pastor Ronald Wallace officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.
