TIGERS TOP YANKEES IN GAME 1 OF ALCS

The Detroit Tigers topped the New York Yankees 6 to 4 in 12 innings to take a 1-0 series lead in the American League Championship Series, but that wasn't the story of the game. The New York Yankees suffered an even bigger loss when shortstop Derek Jeter suffered a fractured left ankle in the top of the 12th inning, he is done for the remainder of the playoffs. The two teams will go back at it today in game 2 first pitch set for 4 pm from Yankee Stadium.
