The Pittsburgh Pirates and Boston Red Sox continue to work out the details of the trade of closer Joel Hanrahan to Boston.  The deal is not yet finalized, but the Boston Globe says it does not appear to be in jeopardy.  The Pirates would get first baseman/outfielder Jerry Sands and minor league pitcher Stolmy Pimentel, plus two other players.  The Globe says one of those others could be one of two major league relief pitchers, Mark Melancon or Franklin Morales.  The other player would be a minor leaguer. The Pirates would also send one other player to Boston.
The Cleveland Indians have signed former Yankees outfielder Nick Swisher to a 4-year, $56-million contract.
