Pedro Alvarez was 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI as the Pirates punded the Athletics 5-0 in Pittsburgh following a nearly tree hour delay to start the game. Andrew McCutchen was 2-for-3 with a run scored and driven in for Pittsburgh,which snapped a four-game slide to salvage the three-game series. Jose Tabata added two runs and an RBI in the win. Fancisco Liriano tossed seven innings of shut out ball to up his mark to 9-and-3. The Pirates are now 1-11 against the A's all time.

The Pirates are off today, but will face the New York Mets Friday at PNC Park.
