IUP'S FRANK CIGNETTI ELECTED TO ANOTHER HALL OF FAME
Crimson Hawks prepare for opener

9/6/2013

Legendary IUP football coach Frank Cignetti was named yesterday to the 2013 class of the Division Two Football Hall of Fame.  It’s his second Hall of Fame selection this year.  Cignetti was just inducted last week into the College Football Hall of Fame.  The 2013 class also includes former ValdostaState quarterback Dusty Bonner and former JacksonvilleState tight end Keith McKellar.

The induction ceremony will be Friday, December 20th at the 28th Annual Harlon Hill Trophy and Division II Hall of fame Banquet in Florence, Alabama.  He will be one of only five coaches in the Hall of Fame.

Meanwhile, CURT Cignetti takes his IUP Crimson Hawks on the road for its season opener tomorrow at Southern Connecticut State.  IUP is ranked 10th coming into the season.  This is the fourth time IUP has opened with the Owls, and IUP has won them all, in 2009, 2010, and 2012.

Jack Benedict has the call of the game with John Flickinger and Greg Drahuschak tomorrow starting at 12:30 PM on 92.5 FM U92, and it’s the debut of the Crimson Hawk Channel for online listeners at U92radio.com.
