PIRATES LET THE CARDS PULL CLOSER
9-6-13

9/7/2013

The St. Louis Cardinals opened a seven-run seventh inning with nine consecutive hits -- including a three-run homer by Yadier Molina -- as St. Louis topped the first-place Pirates, 12-8, Friday and moved to a half-game back in the NL Central.

The Redbirds jumped A.J. Burnett for two runs in the first and added three more in the third for a 5-0 lead. The Pirates are still searching for win No. 82, which would give them their first winning season since 1992. The Pirates go for that win against the Cardinals tonight  at 7:15 pm on 1160 WCCS.
