State Police in Indiana have released their “Five Most Wanted” list for the month of November. Police want to remind everyone that they are not looking for assistance in apprehending the individuals, but they do want to hear from you if you have seen them. BIGGEST CHALLENGE FACING VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANIES
The spring has been a difficult one for first responders, with fatal accidents, wildfires, and the storms and resultant power outages. What are the biggest challenges facing volunteer fire companies?
Personnel. The average age of a Pennsylvania firefighter is 48.
Equipment. New fire trucks start at $500,000 and can top $1 million.
Mandates. Their training requirements are too difficult.
Danger! A first responder is always in jeopardy.
