The Indiana Free Library building is closed as it rides out the Covid-19 crisis, but it is operating online and is reaching out to children and homebound families with a variety of digital resources.
Library Director Kate Geiger says some of the materials available online include homework helps for kids, “Miss Humblebees” for younger children, e-books and audiobooks from The Cloud Library, the Power Library (which contains current information), and streaming or downloadable music.
All of those resources are available with your library card, and if you do not have one, Geiger says anyone can get a temporary digital card by emailing reference@indianafreelibrary.org to request an access number.
Other library offerings include Acorn TV for British TV viewing; The Great Course, which is now free online; and Gale Courses has classes for adults to gain employment skills while they are laid off.
