The United School Board voted to name Matt Rodkey, the new head boys basketball coach. Rodkey, who is the Assistant Principal at Homer-Center Jr. Sr. High School, graduated from United in 1996, and he will replace Tyler Stokes who had been the Lions coach since the 2012-13 season. Rodkey said he is thankful for the opportunity:
Rodkey played for United from 1994-96 under former Coach Kraig Hetz, and told us that Hetz was a tremendous influence on his life
The Lions will return 4 seniors and 7 juniors, including leading scorer Austin Kovalchick, from an 11-14 team that qualified for the District 6 playoffs
