IUP has once again received high praise in U.S. News and World Report as one of the “Best National Universities” in the nation.
This marks the 27th year that IUP has received the honor from the national publication. The National Universities listing includes 381 institutions in the nation that have a full range of undergrad, graduate and doctoral programs and who are committed to groundbreaking research. IUP is only one of 18 universities from Pennsylvania selected for the ranking.
The university also received top marks in “Social Mobility”, which measures how well schools graduated students who receive federal Pell grants. Those students typically come from households whose family incomes are less than $50,000. Editors also had high praise for the “academic rigor” at IUP, noting the university’s over 140 bachelor programs and over 60 master degree programs.
Ranking information comes from independent, national data sources, along with peer reviews and student surveys.
IUP has was recently named one of the top 10 Colleges and Universities in Pennsylvania in College Magazine and in Washington Monthly’s national ranking of universities based on contributions of society.
