Indiana Area School District superintendent Michael Vuckovich announced yesterday that a Senior High School student has tested positive for coronavirus.
The student has not been in school since last Tuesday. The district learned of the test result yesterday morning and Vuckovich writes that contact tracing is underway to determine how much, if any, exposure others have had with the students. The families of students who have been exposed have been contacted by the district’s School Health Services.
It’s the second active case in the district and Vuckovich is recommending the district stay open because the previous case was a student with low exposure to others in the school, and the new case is unrelated to the previous case and it does not appear that there will be many exposures or quarantines.
