At Thursday night’s meeting, the Penns Manor School Board approved by a 7-1 vote a resolution concerning property taxes for the next fiscal year.
The resolution states for the 2021-2022 budget, taxes will not be increased by over the limit put in place by the PA Department of Education. For Penns Manor, that means taxes will not increase by more than 4.4%. District Superintendent Daren Johnston said that doesn’t necessarily mean that taxes will go up by that much, if they go up at all.
Richard Polenik was the only one who voted against the Act 1 tax resolution.
In other business, the board approved taking part in cooperative purchasing programs with both ARIN and Riverview Intermediate Unit, and they approved advertising for bids related to an electrical service upgrade project for Penns Manor Stadium.
The board also approved, with regret, the resignation of Jason Miloser as the district’s athletic director. Miloser served the district in that capacity for the last three years.
