On Monday night, the president of the Indiana School Board said that he would like to see discussion on having more students return for more in-person class days.
Board President Walter Schroth said in his message at the start of the meeting that teachers are receiving vaccines, and they are about to reach a big milestone.
To that end, Schroth said that he would like to see the district administration conduct a survey of district parents on their stance on bringing kids back for more in-person instruction days. Superintendent Michael Vuckovich said that they want to get the pulse of the community before the board starts discussions on bringing kids back.
The administration was also tasked with preparing recommendations for the board and to prepare a motion for the next board meeting on March 22nd.
In other business, the board approved the purchase of 85 wireless access points. The access points will go in the school buildings throughout the district. The board also approved a change to the 2021-2022 school calendar. This will cancel an Act 80 Day originally scheduled for February 4th of next year and turn February 18, 2021 into an Act 80 day.
