The new facility is located at the Indiana County Technology Center complex on Hammill Road, and is part of a recent boom in interest in the area. Westmoreland County Community College and the Challenger Center will also have a 26,400 square foot complex on that property. The new Conservation District office consists of six acres that will not only house office space but educational facilities as well.
Indiana County Commissioner Sherene Hess said that the educational opportunities are not just available in the classroom, but on the grounds that the conservation center sits on.
The project broke ground in January of 2019 and took a little over two years to complete.
