A Marion Center man has entered guilty pleas to two different cases this morning in Indiana County Court.
District Attorney Robert Manzi announced today that 33-year-old Brian Potts entered a guilty plea to a second-degree felony charge of robbery by demanding money from a financial institution. The charge is connected to the robbery of the InFirst Bank Branch in Plumville in October of last year. At the time, police said that he passed a note to the teller demanding money. He left the bank with $3,190 in cash, but he was found inside the women’s restroom at the Dollar General in Rayne Township. Police caught him with some of the cash from the robbery and drugs that were purchased with the stolen money.
He also entered a guilty plea to a first-degree felony charge of burglary in a case that goes back to February of 2020. In that incident, Potts broke into a home in Washington Township and stole a Sawzall and chainsaw from the homeowner. He later sold those items to an un-named party.
Potts has been in Indiana County Jail on $100,000 bail since his arrest after the bank robbery. He will be sentenced for both cases on March 28th.
